So, today is Father's
Day (or days after depending on when I post this). And I am grilling shrimp and
burgers for my dad today. I have two potatoes baking right now on the grill. My
dad is a sic-fi fantasy and fantasy reader. In fact, he started my reading
journey with The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. He has the special edition 1970s one
the green hardback book. From there I've read out of his small library Dragons
of Pern by Anna McCaffrey as well as The Rowan by her. He has a lot of Anna
McCaffrey books. From there though I branched off into the young adult (middle
and high school years) reading. My mind though always did a what if they did
something different.
That being said welcome
to my blog. My name is Gloria Jean Gawron. And try as I might I will probably
forget to update this when I need to. Life seems to pass by fast when you are
busy working or taking care of others.
I am
writing, I don't know if I will ever call myself an author unless I have to. So,
for now, I'm a writer. I have several stories in the works (yes, I know I need
to work on one at a time) but there is one that I am fully focusing on. The
Work In Progress name is The Call of the Ocean (I have the real publishing
title picked out already) and it is a sirens/mermaid’s story. Something I never
thought I would write because I have tried to stay away from myths that I'm not
personally familiar with. I do have a dragon story in the works which is
connected by well that’s something that will be told later on. I have more
stories that I am working on but this one and the dragon one is something that’s
close to my heart. I will say more about why later in this blog but for now let’s
move on.
I have a Patreon that I am reworking/setting up. There you can be added to an email list of updates about the stories that are being written. For now, the focus of the list/updates will be on which chapter is done and which is next. I need something to keep myself accountable in writing and having friends that are writers/authors is great. I tend to try and help them more in their writing and then have them remind me of mine. That’s it for this post. See you around writers and readers.
